| Finding the right balance – attention seeking It is important for us to address attention seeking as a key topic for finding the right balance in life. Why? Because we may have children right now who are seeking attention from us all the time and it is vital we put a stop to this so that they can find security in God. Or we as adults may be products of attention seeking and it is time we let go of our past and let God bring healing of our past hurts. To me the root cause of attention seeking is because of rejection and maybe feeling neglected as a child. As a testimony I want to let you know that I am a product of this imbalance. It isn’t my parents fault, it isn’t anyone’s fault and I will not blame anyone for this. Why is it important for us to overcome this imbalance? Attention seekers are often never taken seriously. They are often seen as immature. But more importantly, they often don’t trust themselves. Root cause: They want approval for everything they do. God has called us to be disciplined, to be decisive and clear with our purpose in life. The very fact that we cannot trust our own decisions is not healthy. Seeking approval for every decision I make is one of my biggest struggles. Attention seekers may struggle with their identity, lack of purpose because they don’t feel good enough. We must put a stop to this. Today let us claim our identity in Christ. Let us establish our purpose in life by God who created us and not MAN! We can never overcome this imbalance if we don’t give it to God. Finally, let us embrace making mistakes and failing, we don’t need any stamp of approval from people, because GOD HAS ALREADY STAMPED HIS APPROVAL IN YOU THE DAY YOU WERE FORMED AND CREATED IN THE WOMB. Numbers 6:24-26 The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. © 2008 Shaun Lee. www.everynation.org.sg archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |

| Finding the right balance – emotional rollercoaster I define the emotional rollercoaster the same as most rollercoaster rides. The ups, the downs, the surprise twists and turns. If we are extremely emotional and moody, there is a lack of balance and we need to change that. God has made some of us more sensitive than others. However, taken to the extreme that is not God. Today, if this sounds like you, I hope that you would be encouraged to change because God has so much in store for you. Put yourself in others shoes. When people are forced to ride on “your” emotional rollercoaster ride, people often either stay far away, or people wait to see the mood (Good means talk/Bad means stay away). Lay down your emotions. We need to find out the root of this seed. Why are we being too emotional? Am I being emotionally draining? When we know the root, we have the ability to lay it down on our cross. We have the ability to repent, seek forgiveness, and most of all attain peace in our hearts. In my opinion when we are too emotional we lack peace in our hearts. By no means are today’s words of encouragement enough to solve and fix problems. However, God is greater than our circumstances, our emotions, and our imbalances. Let us pray for humility and for His grace to help us want to change. Prayers for the youth and marriages – 2 Nov 2008
| Prayers for the youth and marriages – 2 Nov 2008 James 1:6-8 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does. | |
| In the name of Jesus we thank you for James 1:6-8. Right now we pray that every youth in this world would rise up, claim their inheritance, and hold it close to their hearts. We pray for young men and women who would be decisive in every aspect of their lives. From making difficult and life changing decisions, to the simplest. How amazing O Lord would it be for that day when every child, every youth would walk with confidence, security, and comfort. Because they walk with You and don’t care about what the world chases after. Lord we thank you and pray for every youth. We pray that they will find You and grow an intimate relationship with You. In Jesus name we pray, amen. © 2008 Shaun Lee | Father, in this hour we pray that You would raise up couples who would work together like a perfect team. Secure in their role, purpose, and reason. We pray against confusion of how you have created man and woman. We pray for marriages today that will be blessed, used, and shown to the world because they simply walk in righteousness. Most of all with You at the centre of their marriages. Father we pray against doubt against fear, and the lack of. God You are our provider and that is all that matters. We pray that couples would make decisions in life not based on financial security, and having enough. However, we pray that marriages would make choices in life because they listen to you. In Jesus name we pray, amen. |

| Finding the right balance – fighting insecurities Again, having a balanced life can only come from the Lord. Today’s words of encouragement are about insecurities. Insecurities are common. However, if we don’t deal with them we will not have a balanced life. What are your insecurities? Dealing with our insecurities means being aware of them. It means giving them to God, asking God for help, repenting, and asking for forgiveness. In my opinion we need to fight insecurities, fight it out of our system and watch and see God transform our lives with the right balance. The most common forms of insecurities are jealously, comparison, feeling small, weak, a failure, etc. Why do we face these insecurities? In my opinion we are often insecure when we don’t trust God. Right now are we depending on God’s approval or the approval of man. Having a balanced life allows us to discern and know when we have been too extreme when it comes to seeking approval and acceptance from man. Having a balanced life means sometimes fighting insecurities on a daily basis. Insecurities creep up unsurprisingly when we let our guard down. We must guard our hearts constantly. Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. © 2008 Shaun Lee. www.everynation.org.sg archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |

Prayers for the youth and marriages – 1 Nov 2008
| Prayers for the youth and marriages – 1 Nov 2008 | |
| Lord we thank you for the amazing things that are going to take place in the generations to come. Right now as we pray for the youths throughout the world we pray that ever youth would be able to see your amazing plans. Lord, the world is going to be a different place. It is going to be shaken because of what You are going to do. We pray for generations of youths that will break away from traditional ties that restrict the Word of God from spreading. In the name of Jesus we pray that the Word of God would spread like wild fire. We pray for amazing youths that will speak and stun the wisest of men. May kings and leaders bow their knees to You Lord through the lives of the next generation. In Jesus name we pray, amen. | Father, we pray for Your streams of overflowing water to be poured upon every marriage. As the world continues to battle the current economic crisis, we pray for marriages to strength, to grow closer, and may more marriages turn to You for help, guidance, and we pray against lies of the enemy. It saddens my heart to see men and women take their lives because of losing money. Father, in the name of Jesus we pray for the gift of mercy to overflow right now. Bring peace to our hearts O Lord. Father, there is only one that stand firm, one that stands solid through the storm. For all marriages that do not know You Lord, we pray that through this storm they may find You O Lord. In Jesus name we pray, amen. © 2008 Shaun Lee |
