Nailed to the cross - the unknown the uncertain

Hebrews 6:16-20 Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument. Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of His promise very clear to the heirs of what was promised, He confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

There is one thing in life that we can be certain of - Jesus Christ our Lord will return. Jesus is our anchor for our souls. Only our Lord Jesus Christ plants us firmly and securely even through the uncertainties of life. However, everything else in life is uncertain. Life is definitely filled with surprises, twists, and turns. Today, the Lord our God wants us to nail our uncertainties and the unknowns to the cross with confidence. It is time we trust everything to God and let Him lead.

1 Timothy 6:17 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

If we cannot comprehend the importance in nailing our uncertainties and unknowns to the cross, then I believe we are still trying to control and lead our own lives. Everything done in our own hands does not please God no matter how perfect we may try to be. When we are able to nail everything to the cross of Jesus, this is when we are prepared for whatever is thrown our way; especially the surprises.

Surprises in life hits us when we least expected it, at an hour unknown, and when many of us are unprepared. Those who have and know how to nail everything to the cross will be able to respond righteously, with God by our side and leading us every step of the way. However, those who do not nail their uncertainties to the cross will face every single battle not knowing if their steps forward glorifies God or not.

The time and date of our death is unknown, when we will walk into our promise, destiny and calling is also unknown. If we do not know how to nail everything to the cross, then it will be very hard to understand and know what is important to God.

Time is held in the hands of God and He leads and directs our every step forward. The promises of God over our lives never return void. His promises are yes and amen. It is never easy to walk and live in uncertainty which is why nailing our uncertain moments to the cross of Jesus is so important. There will always be times of uncertainty. Uncertain moments in life can either fill our hearts with doubt, hesitation, and ambiguity, or we can live every day fulfilled and with complete fullness because Jesus Christ our Lord leads our every step. The choice of how we live is ours, I pray we would make the right decision.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to read these devotions. I am writing this email to inform you that I will be away for one week. I am not sure if I will have access to the Internet, but I will do my very best to continue to send out these daily words faithfully.

It is my prayer that God would continue to bless you and your family. We are drawing to the end of 2011 and I pray we would get excited for 2012. Let us stand firmly planted and rooted in God's Holy Word.

Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Father, we pray for all nations going through war and persecution. We pray for Your power to reign and rule. We bind the works of the enemy right now. We render him powerless by the blood of Jesus.

Lord Jesus we pray that nations would stand firm upon Your laws which have stood firm through the ages. We pray for men and women of righteousness to be used and raised up for such a time as this.

Father, restoration will not take place if we do things our way and out of human ability. Restoration can only take place through the work of our Lord. Today, we pray for nations to bow their knees in complete surrender to You.

The enemy is living, at work, and will do everything in his power to confuse us, steal, kill, and destroy. But our Father is here! His blood will change this world. In Jesus Name we pray, amen.

Father, we pray right now that our hearts would be driven towards making a difference in the lives of those who are poor and in need. I am reminded today of the Old Testament. You reminded us not to be selfish to leave enough food for the poor in our fields.

Leviticus 19:9 When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the alien. I am the Lord your God.

Father I pray we would desire hearts of compassion for the poor, in need, and those who are critically ill.

In the name of Jesus, we pray that we would begin to hear Your voice. Hear Your cries. Father, we pray that we would be used by You. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Come follow me-He leads us to our destiny

Psalm 103:14-16 For He knows how we are formed, He remembers that we are dust. As for man, his days are like grass, he flourishes like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.

When our Father calls us to follow Him, He is leading us to our destiny. He is telling us what we are supposed to do. He is challenging us to live lives obedient to Him.

I pray we would be constantly reminded that our Father does not need us to fulfil His will. The Lord our God wants to remind us, as much as He loves us-it does not give us the right to be self-centred. If we will not obey Him, He will use someone else.

Our destiny is ours and ours alone. However, if we cannot allow God to lead us then we are throwing away everything God created. God formed us. He spent time creating us, the way we are, and everything inside us. I wonder how many of God creations have thrown everything away by simply being disobedient.

We are His vessels. Our Father loves us and wants to use us; however, if we choose not to follow Him, there are many who can fill in the gaps.

Come follow me-into the wilderness

Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would alter receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

Often our Lord Jesus Christ calls us to follow Him into the wilderness. The wilderness is a place many of us do not want to go because we know what we are going to expect. It is going to be hard, trying, and suffering is but assured.

The unknown and the uncertain. Only our Lord knows our future. To be able to trust in the Lord is to surrender everything and walk in obedience. It is very clear when we are disobedient to God. Our heart starts to ache. Our minds are not clear. Our soul is constantly reminding us to go back to the Lord for guidance.

I believe our Lord calls us to the wilderness for a reason. It is a sign of obedience and complete surrender to Him. Do we really love our Lord with all our hearts? Are we really obedient to Him or not?

We cannot hesitate when our Lord calls us to follow Him. We may be at our most comfortable state when our Lord calls us. Would we choose comfort over obedience to our Lord?

Father, You have blessed our children with many gifts and talents. We pray that they would not throw their gifts away. We pray that our children would stop comparing themselves and recognise they have been made in your image.

Father there are so many distractions right now in this generation. We pray we would be able to avoid these distractions by turning to the Word of God and drawing close to You everyday. We pray that our children would grow more and moer intimate with You.

By Your grace and love, we pray it would flood the hearts of our children. Set their hearts on fire for what fuels Your passion O Lord. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Guide every marraige today O Lord. Guide them through every season. Through the storms, the dry seasons, the joys and the highs. Through every season may we remain steadfast, steady, and firm.

Father we pray for those who have been wavering. Those marriages who have been beaten up by the storms of life. We pray for Your healing hands to bring restoration right now in Jesus name. Come follow me-all have fallen short

The Lord our God is reminding us to follow in His foot steps today. Just as He has shown us and given us grace, so must we towards others.

Romans 3:22-24 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

All of us have fallen short when it comes to sin. All of us do not deserve eternal life nor His love. Yet, everyday our Lord gives us grace. I pray we would not take our Lord Jesus Christ for granted.

I pray we would learn to show and give grace towards others. Towards our family, towards those our Lord has called us to build with, and especially towards those we do not get along with.

Are we rigid in our ways? This is a vital question which we must answer. Grace is the ability to be unselfish and constantly aware of our feelings and emotions so we would not be selfish in our ways. Today, have we been lacking in grace? It is time we come and follow our Lord Jesus Christ.

No other like our God-the world is going to be jealous of Him

Deuteronomy 28:9-11 The Lord will establish you as His holy people, as He promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in His ways. Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you. The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity-in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground-in the land He swore to your forefathers to give you.

The Lord our God has established us as His holy people. Let us live our lives as examples of what it means to be called a child of God. All the people on earth shall know that we are called by name by our Lord. Do people really know we are children of God? The Lord our God has granted us abundant prosperity, not just in our labour but in our families, homes, future, and nation. Do we live as though we have not received the blessings from our Lord? Are we still striving out of our own strength and resting upon our own abilities?

There is no other God like our Father in heaven. He has blessed us, called us by our names, and anointed each and every one of us. Let us claim the promises of God right now. Let us pray for the world to be jealous at us because they are empty and lack Jesus in their lives.

Is the world jealous of us because of Christ? If they are not the Lord our God is challenging us today to go deeper with Him. If however, the world is jealous; do not be discouraged when the storms of life comes because the Lord our God is going to use us.

Is our life and very existence not good enough? I pray we would hold on to the promises of God. I pray for greater faith and passion to be birthed right now. The world is going to be jealous because they do not have what we have. OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST!

Lord we pray for the nation of Thailand. We pray that this nation would find peace and restoration through the love of our Lord. We pray that righteousness would be established in this nation and not the ways of man.

Father, You are shaking the very foundations of this nation and its values. Lord Jesus, You see everything. From the good and the bad. We pray that Your people would turn from their ways and bow before you.

In the name of Jesus we pray for peace. We pray that You would bind the works of the enemy. Where we have fallen short, where we have closed one eye. Today, may we be united in our prayers to ensure that the nation of Thailand will be established by our Lord Jesus Christ and none other. In His name, amen.

Father, we pray for those who are living below the poverty line and those who are virtually at the brink of death. May the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ fill our hearts today. It is only by You O Lord shall the world be set free from sin and death.

We pray for those who are being tortured, abused, and sold in human traffic. We bind the works of the enemy and we render him powerless. Lord Jesus as we speak, as we pray, the Lord our God is completely exposing what is not righteous. Father, you see everything. Nothing goes hidden from our Lord.

We live in an unfair world. A world where persecution and torture continue to occur on a daily basis. A world where sometimes it is easy to doubt the existence and power of our Lord when we are the victims. However, I pray we would realise there is no other God like our Lord Jesus Christ.

He bore our sins and transgressions. He was tortured for our iniquities. It is because of His wounds we are healed. If not for His blood and wounds we would be lifeless beings without meaning.

Isaiah 53:5 But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed.

I believe the Lord our God wants to pour His healing hands upon us today. Some of us have such a stubborn spirit, it is virtually impossible for us to receive. Why is it so hard to receive? If we cannot eat the body and drink the blood of our Lord-we have not been healed. It is by the wounds of our Lord Jesus Christ that we have been healed. Healed from our sins and transgressions.

We must look inside our hearts. If we cannot receive the blessings, the rebukes, the discipline, the affection and love from our Lord it means we do not know our Lord. It is time we thank the Lord our God.

Father, we pray right now that every child would recognise the importance of respecting and honouring their parents. We pray that a new found restoration of love would take place.

Lord Jesus, if we do not love, we do not know You. We pray that our children would remember these words from You. Today, we pray for forgiveness and healing. It is time we bring restoration. We pray that our children would be able to let go. Let go of everything that binds them from walking with You in full love.

We pray right now that our youth would value their relationship with You most of all. May they be an example to the world. Our children will be used and we thank You right now. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

In the name of Jesus we declare every marriage Yours right now. Thank You Lord for your unceasing love. Thank You for your grace and mercy that never fails. Lord imbed in our marriage the meaning of love that is defined by You and not the world.

No other like our God-give your all to God

I pray we would open our hearts to God today by giving our all. We do this through honest worship and praise to Him. There is no other like our God. There is no other who deserves our all and nothing less. Only one do we bow and sing. Only one do we worship and honour.

We must worship our Lord everyday of our lives. However, sometimes life is filled with so many distractions we lose focus on what is important to God. More than anything else we must give our all to God.

God is encouraging us to worship Him uniquely. Let us not copy how people worship God. Instead, let us find our own unique way of drawing close to God and being intimate with Him. Let us worship the Lord with all our hearts and nothing less then all. We open our hearts and are vulnerable to no one but God.

Revelation 15:3-4 Great and marvellous are Your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are Your ways, King of the ages. Who will not fear You, O Lord, and bring glory to Your name? For You alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before You, for Your righteous acts have been revealed.

Father, protect our children right now. Sometimes it is easy for our children to get distracted from all the different things this world offers. The world is filled with a lot of trash and garbage and good things. Today, we pray our children will be able to see the blessings, be able to discern the trash, and begin to live the lives You have called them to live.

In the name of Jesus we pray that You would protect our children and what they see and listen to. We pray for spiritual maturity to know how to throw out trash and retain the good things.

Father, You are going to use our children to purify the internet and use it for Your glory and purpose. What we have failed to do, we repent and ask your forgiveness. Today, our children O Lord. Use them Father. Use them where we have failed.

Right now humble us all O Lord, teach us to obey You. Today we pray for all couples throughout the world, help us not to grow complacent and lazy in keeping our marriage active and alive. Father, I see many dead marriages right now, today we pray You would bring water to those dry bones.

Father, speak to us in areas where we can grow and learn. We pray for teachable hearts. We pray against stubborn hearts, hearts unwilling to change. God wants us to change to be better husbands and wives. God wants us to see the richness of life through Him, yet many of us are missing all of it, because of our stubbornness. It is time to put an end to this.

We pray right now that every child would find their destiny and calling. We pray for those who are lost and do not know why they were ever created. O Lord we pray that You would bring contentment upon every heart. It is You who gives us meaning and reason for living. Today fill every heart with Your love.

Jesus, it is all about Jesus. Today, we pray that every child would know the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Fill our hearts O Lord. You are the King of kings. You are the one and only. Today, we pray that every child would worship the name of our Lord.

Father, we pray for those that are close to You. We pray for these that they would be used in their generation to make an impact in the Kingdom of God. Protect our children O Lord. Amen.

Lord, we pray for every marriage right now. We pray for those that have been married for awhile now. Are we just going through the motions of marriage? Father, we pray right now for the nation of Indonesia and its surrounding neighbours. We pray for Your hand of protection over every single life. We pray for those who have lost loved ones. In the name of Jesus we pray that millions will draw near to You because You are the one true God.

We pray that Your glory and power would shine ever so brightly upon the nations of this world. We pray for the nations which have gone cold and have hardened their hearts towards You O Lord. We pray for these nations even more so right now.

May the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ fill the earth. May it humble every heart because no other God has ever died for our sins. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Father, we pray for those who are living below the poverty line who do not have a voice or means to get out of poverty. We render the works of the enemy powerless O Lord.

We pray for those who are being tortured, abused, and sold in human traffic. We pray that these acts of evil would be completely eradicated. Father, you see everything. Nothing goes hidden from our Lord. Today, give us the strength and perseverance to remove all these abusive acts.

Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 13 May 2010

No other like our God-give everything to God

The Lord our God is reminding us today to submit ourselves to God. Give everything to Him. Draw close to Him and stay far away for the devil. There is no other God like ours. As we draw close to Him so will he.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

I pray we would stop responding to situations in the flesh. Some of us may be at a critical crossroad, right now. We are uncertain of our futures and what God wants us to do. It is time to submit ourselves to Him and stop being distracted. The Lord wants to speak to us. If we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us.

Some of us may be in a major fight with a love one, or nearing the verge of a divorce. The Lord is reminding us to draw close to Him. STOP responding in ways which are not submitted to God. Are we being double-minded? The Lord our God is not a God of confusion.

James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.

It is time we all learn how to humble ourselves. We might think we are the most humble. We might think we have sacrificed more than others. BUT THE LORD IS SAYING TO US, SO WHAT!!!! It is time we remain humble, give more, sacrifice more, and remain selfless till the day we die.
